Playlist: Fall 2007
A fresh fall with some very new and some very old music on old and new iPods.
- Radiohead – 15 Step – I love the opening beats of In Rainbows.
- The Flaming Lips – The Yeah Yeah Yeah Song – Reminds me of the excellent concert this summer. And the movie No End in Sight I saw last week.
- The Kooks – She Moves in Her Own Way – Had I listened to music radio, I might have noticed this when it was a hit. I noticed it now.
- Iggy Pop – Lust for Life – I really need to see Trainspotting again some day soon.
- The Surpremes – You Can’t Hurry Love I guess you can’t. And The Surpremes rules.
- * Rock Plaza Central* – i am an excellent steel horse – Saw them by coincidence in Toronto. From a concept album about mechanical horses believing they are real horses. But I assure you, the album is more than the concept. Get it at zunior where it’s no DRM and cheap
- The White Stripes – You Don’t Know What Love Is (You Just Do What You’re Told) – Great when you’re in the market for a cut and dry rock song.
- The Raveonettes – That Great Love Sound – Flashback from the beginning of this decade.
- Motorpsycho – Upstairs-Downstairs – Beautiful song, with a 1:40 long intro.
- Since U Been Gone – Robyn Great song, great artist, cool combo.
I’m writing this in a plane high above the North Atlantic, and it seemed like a suitable time to start a new chapter. The end of the year approaches, next stop is probably “Best of 2007”. It’s nearly finished, but I’m open for suggestions and new influences…
