Playlist: Summer 2007
The summer is most definitely over here in Oslo, for good and for bad (for me, it’s exclusively good). And so it is time to sum it up by doing a recap of what I’ve been listening to in the last few months.
- Phil Collins – In the air tonight – For various reasons. In particular this hilarious commercial and this episode of This American Life where Collins himself appears.
- Greg Weeks – Made – A beautiful song. Even better than the excellent Adidas commercial where I first heard it.
- Curtis Mayfield – Move on up – Because I saw season four of The Wire this summer, where Cutty works out to this song, in one of the very few scenes in the whole series with off-camera music…
- Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons – Let’s hang on – I want to be a Frankie Valli look- & sound-alike when I grow up.
- AIR – Kelly watch the stars (The Moog Cookbook remix) – The unbeatable combination of two of my favorite bands.
- Radiohead – Climbing up the walls – Ten years since OK Computer. Still more than enough teenage angst around to enjoy(?) this.
- Simon & Garfunkel – The 59th Street Bridge song – -First Phil Collins, and now “Feelin’ Groovy”? -Ah, shut up!
- Common feat. Lilly Allen – Drivin’ me wild – -Drivin’ herself crazy like the astronaut lady. You HAVE to check out the video, at least if you like Jeremy Piven half as much as I do.
- Bob Hund – Bob Hunds 115:e sång – Another look back at the time when I was in my late teens, naïve, and thought Swedish rock was one of the best things to listen to. Not much have changed, really. Except, I’m not in my late teens any more.
Now, let’s start a new, clean playlist.
