Notes about music
- I bought my first amplifier yesterday and it’s really beautiful. I’m proud that I didn’t buy a seven channel, overly expensive receiver with about ninety inputs and buttons. I got the cheapest stereo amp in the hi-fi store, with their cheapest cables. That’s not bad for a gadget-nerd like me.
- Since I got the amplifier, I got to play CDs without using iTunes. Few things beats inserting Pet Sounds in the CD player, and pressing play. Maybe I’m the one living in the future, but it feels retro.
- The iTunes Music Store have to get a way to recognize previous purchases of single songs, when buying whole albums. It’s only 8 kroner (or 99 cents), but it’s bad karma to have two copies of the same song from the same album. I thought Steve Jobs cared about things like that.
- The rest of the world should be envious of us Scandinavians being able to watch the best music show on tv; Musikbyrån on SVT. But wait, you too can watch it! Go to their homepage and click “Se programmet” in the right column. The documentary from the pop/indie scene in Melbourne was very, very good.
- The Musikbyrån documentary from Melbourne inspired me to buy the album “In Case We Die” by Architecture in Helsinki. I already had a copy of the song “It’s 5!”. Now I have two.
