Buzzwords are irritating enough within the geek community, but it doesn’t get really nasty until the mainstream tries to catch up. Today, Norway’s third largest newspaper, Aftenposten, ran an article both in print and web about a blogger who confessed a insurance fraud in a blog. The word blog/blogger was mentioned five times in the article. Probably because it’s such a cool word. You know, it was even word of the year 2004.
Except that the “blogger” was just a regular poster in a discussion forum, as shown in the screenshot accompanying the article.
No wonder my parents get confused when they watch ski jumping on tv.
